There are still people who make new hardware for Commodore computers. Jim Brain is such a person. His newest hardware project is called uIEC. The u stands for micro and IEC is the serial bus for the VIC20, C64/128, C16/116/Plus 4 and the C64-DTV. This project is an interface between the IEC-bus and IDE drives. The interface is controlled with a little (re-)programmable microprocessor. At the moment it is still a proto-type but Jim already gave a demonstration at the LUCKI Commodore Expo.
