Linus Akesson has developed an auto start cartridge for the Commodore C64 computer. This cartridge uses an ATmega88 microcontroller and a 74541 (8-bit tristate buffer). At start-up, a small bootloader is placed in RAM, and then this bootloader can load up to 8 kB from the cartridge into the RAM of the C64.
