This project adds 8 kB of RAM and 8 kB of extra ROM space to a Commodore 1551 disk drive by replacing the ROM with a small daughterboard. The extra memory is used by a ROM patch to implement a simple track cache: read an entire track once, then serve subsequent sector reads from RAM.
