The xu1541 is the modern way to connect CBM IEC bus devices to todays USB equipped PCs and it is meant to replace the printer port solutions based on the so-called original x1541 cable. The xu1541 interface allows you e.g. to attach a VC1541 disk drive to your desktop PC. This allows for easy transfer of disk images from and to the old units and helps you preserve your ancient data.

Luigi Di Fraia is developing a Digital replacement for the C2N (DC2N). This device will act as a real Datassette but instead of a Cassette there will be a SD memory card in the device. With this device you can copy any program from a real C2N to the SD card without a PC. You can also read write to the memory card using a real Commodore computer with a C2N port. Of course you can fill your SD card with TAP files using a modern PC. Luigi has build a working proto type. If you want to help with the project or want more info please contact Luigi. His e-mail address is on his web site.

Jens Schönfeld and Oliver Achten have been working on a new project the last 12 months. They recreated the custom Amiga chips inside a FPGA. This means that you can replace broken chips with these FPGA's. But it could be possible to place the FPGA's on a PCI card. Then you could use the custom chips in any PPC system. Proto types were tested in a real Amiga 500 without problems.

Leif Bloomquist has made a web page to show the possibility of connecting a Commodore 64 to an Ethernet network, and ultimately to the Internet. Why? Well, because it is there as a fun embedded - systems type project. There is lots of untapped potential for online network games, and games were one of the C64s strengths. This page is a brief summary of the "state of the art" of Ethernet on the C64 as of August 2006. It only looks at "true" Ethernet solutions.

You can also use this on VICE without needing to flash the actual cartridge, or even having to have an RR! Report any malfunction to Sami. All of the utilities included now work, as BASIC is now also initialized before starting them, with a bit of a hack though, abusing the keyboard buffer. There are no operating instructions, but simply press F1, F3 or F5 to launch one of the included utility programs. Press 2 or 3 to select disk and tape turbo, respectively, and then F7 to reset, or alternatively press space to reset without fast loaders. You can also hold down the left shift or right shift to bypass the menu into turbo or normal mode.
